Hikkaduwa is the prime spot for scuba diving in the south west of Sri Lanka. Renowned for its house reef which is the first marine sanctuary in Sri Lanka. In Hikkaduwa many historic shipwrecks are within easy reach. There are diving centers situated meters away from the shore and beginners can ease into water training in the safety of the nearby riff.
