The Kosgoda Turtle Care program aims to protect sea turtle eggs and increase hatchability. Their role is to treat disabled turtles and vulnerable ones that have been brought on by fishing. The hatchery staff patrol the beach throughout the night to look for sea turtles that come out of the sea to lay their eggs. The role is to protect the mother turtle during the hatching process and once eggs are laid, move them to the hatchery for safekeeping. Once the baby sea turtles hatch, they will be moved to their natural habitat, the open sea. Visitors can join the efforts to save these endangered creatures. Guests are welcome to join in the sea turtle baby release experience or to see the process in action for information and awareness of sea turtle issues.
